Jennifer V. Koester
SVP, Advanced Advertising Product and Data Analytics - Cablevision Media Sales (CMS)

Jennifer V. Koester is Senior Vice President, Advanced Advertising Product and Data Analytics of Cablevision Media Sales (CMS), the division responsible for local television and online advertising sales across millions of households in the New York DMA.

Appointed to this role in January 2014, she is responsible for developing products to generate growth opportunities for the company’s advertising sales force. Ms. Koester oversees the following Cablevision Media Sales groups: Strategic Data Solutions, Media Insights & Analytics, Audience Measurement, and Advanced Advertising Products. A key area of focus for Ms. Koester and the groups she oversees is integrating Cablevision’s unique approach to analytics through the introduction of Total Audience Data, which provides advertisers with accurate and actionable insights based on aggregated, census-level tuning data.

Ms. Koester started her career with Cablevision as an attorney in the legal department. She most recently served as Cablevision’s Vice President of Privacy, Product Management and Subpoena Compliance, where she served as a trusted legal advisor on data governance issues and implemented comprehensive data management procedures to ensure privacy compliance.

In this role, Ms. Koester spearheaded the creation of the company’s privacy working groups and provided business conscious legal advice on complex privacy maters including interactive advertising, mobile initiatives, ISP activity and behavioral advertising. Prior to this, Ms. Koester served as Cablevision’s Senior Counsel of Privacy, Product Management and Subpoena Compliance, and as Counsel for Rainbow Media Holdings.

Prior to joining Cablevision, Ms. Koester worked as an associate for the entertainment and advertising department at both Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP as well as Hall Dickler Kent Goldstein & Wood LLP. She also served as an associate in the intellectual property and information technology department at Brown Raysman Millstein Steiner & Felder, LLP.

Ms. Koester received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Binghamton University and went on to receive her Juris Doctor in the accelerated program from St. John’s University School of Law, graduating in the top seven percent of her class.

Ms. Koester is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and has authored six privacy publications, including Privacy Compliance Audits, Legal Briefing: Advertising to Children in the USA, FTC Still Eyeing Internet Ads and FTC Applying Traditional Consumer Protection Rules to Internet. She co-authored Using Celebrities and Personalities as Spokespersons: Sample Agreement and Commentary with J. Hendricksen and assisted the author with Protecting Online Privacy: Government Regulation of Free Marketing Initiatives.

Ms. Koester lives in Merrick, NY with her husband, Eric, and two children.
