Helen Katz
SVP, Research Director

Helen is a Senior Vice President, Director of Research at Starcom, where she focuses on advanced video research, including precision video and addressable advertising. She joined Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG) in 2001 as a strategic research director at GM Planworks, working for General Motors. Prior to SMG, Helen had her own consultancy, and worked at Zenith Media and DDB Chicago. She is an ARF “Great Minds” award-winner, Jay Chiat Innovations Award winner, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Media Rating Council, and a member of the James Webb Young Advisory Board at the University of Illinois, where she received her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees.  Helen is the author of three textbooks on advertising and media, the most recent of which, The Media Handbook, was published in its fifth edition in 2013.
